Heather grew up in Connecticut, and spent her summers in New Hampshire: swimming, boating and doing just about anything she could involving the water. She is a former high school and college athlete. After college and marriage Heather became a certified elementary teacher and math coach. It wasn’t until she was pregnant with her second son in 2005 that she started practicing yoga. She was amazed at the power yoga had in relaxing the body, connecting with breath, and building her overall physical strength. She has been hooked ever since! She graduated from the Lotus Gardens Teacher Training School in Sherman, CT in 2012. She enjoys the benefits of practicing all types of Yoga, core workouts, running, skiing and swimming.
Heather has utilized her yoga practice as a means to challenge herself physically, release stress and also find balance and clarity in this often hectic life. She is a “teacher” at heart, which makes her classes meaningful and targeted to meet the needs of her clients. Heather lives in Guilford, CT with her husband Pete, sons Harrison and Cooper, and little girl, Marlee.
It was only natural that SUP was a perfect fit for Heather. It blends the water, athleticism, nature, balance, focus and the ability of being present together in a beautiful and fun way.
Heather was recently PaddleFit Certified Level 2. She is one of very few WPA Certified Instructors in CT. She was certified through Brody Welte’s Standup Fitness Program, recognized by ACE and NSCA, in September of 2012.
